Students have received monologues that they will have to present to the class for a presentation grade. I will assess based on the rubric that was sent home.
Acting Transitions - Introduction, transition to character, final moment, exit
Characterization - Emotionally and physically believable character, committed to intention/goal of scene and reactions to real or implied partner
Voice - projection, articulation, variance of pitch, tempo, tone and inflection that communicate the character's emotions and subtext
Movement/Staging - gestures and facial expressions communicate emotion and actions are motivated and purposeful
Execution - Concentration and moment-to-moment choices, voice, body and emotional integration, tells a believable story
Students should have their monologues completely memorized and will also have to submit the Blocking and Character Analysis exercise work for the character they are portraying. Please see the handout for additional details
